Our JEWEL (Joint Efforts for Community Well-being) COMMUNITY PARTNER INITIATIVE collaborates with organizations such as the Arthritis Foundation, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, and Lupus Foundation to extend our reach and impact within the BIPOC autoimmune community.

Through this initiative, we actively engage in community events, health fairs, and online platforms to share essential information, provide support, and connect individuals with valuable resources. By fostering meaningful partnerships and leveraging collective expertise, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of BIPOC individuals affected by autoimmune diseases nationwide.

Within our Community Care Collaborative initiative, we address the widespread lack of awareness about autoimmune diseases, especially prevalent in underserved communities where many individuals may not even recognize the term. Our workshops, which are interactive and include fitness sessions, Autoimmune and Chronic Illness Bingo, and other engaging activities, aim to bridge this knowledge gap. Through these sessions, we not only educate about symptoms but also emphasize the importance of early detection and intervention.

Furthermore, we provide practical guidance and support for autoimmune lifestyle management. This includes promoting self-advocacy and self-care to empower individuals to navigate their conditions effectively. By offering comprehensive education and ongoing assistance, we equip participants with the tools they need to take charge of their health, ultimately leading to improved outcomes and a better quality of life.

The AIP BIPOC Network’s POWERing Advocacy Program is designed to empower the BIPOC autoimmune community to become effective advocates for health equity. Our program provides comprehensive training in advocacy and storytelling, equipping participants to navigate the healthcare system, influence policy, and raise awareness about the challenges faced by BIPOC individuals with autoimmune diseases.

Through workshops, mentorship, and community engagement, we help advocates craft and share their personal stories, engage with policymakers and healthcare providers, and drive systemic change. Emphasizing personal narratives, we highlight health disparities and advocate for equitable access to care.
