ROCK It Wellness links a community health focused summit with a high impact community health expo. The ROCK Summit gathers experts, advocates, and community leaders to elevate evidence based insights. ROCK the Block brings those insights directly to families with screenings, education, fitness, and youth centered activities. Together they build a connected pathway that strengthens prevention, access, and community trust.
Each part of ROCK It Wellness reinforces the other. The Summit identifies barriers and solutions across research, practice, and lived experience. The Expo brings those solutions to residents who are often excluded from traditional health resources. By aligning both initiatives under one program, ROCK It Wellness strengthens prevention, access, and inclusion for BIPOC communities. It does this in three key ways:
The ROCK Summit highlights data and insights that reflect real experiences with autoimmune and chronic illness. These perspectives guide better programs, policies, and community based interventions.
ROCK the Block delivers screenings, education, physical activity, and resources directly to neighborhoods. This increases awareness, early detection, and confidence in navigating care.
By pairing the Summit and Expo, ROCK It Wellness creates an ongoing space where partners, sponsors, and community members collaborate to advance long term health equity.
A high-visibility community health and resource event providing free screenings, movement and fitness activities, nutrition education, local vendors, and family-centered programming. The Expo brings prevention, access, and trusted support directly to neighborhoods that need it most.
Educational sessions that bring together experts, community leaders, and lived-experience voices to explore prevention, access, culturally responsive care, and chronic-illness disparities. The Summit builds shared insight and pushes the field toward stronger, more equitable solutions.
ROCK It Wellness brings two core components together to support both health education and community-based outreach. The ROCK Summit and ROCK the Block work in tandem to strengthen health literacy, expand preventive care access, and build trust with BIPOC communities most impacted by autoimmune and chronic illness.
By pairing evidence-informed education with culturally grounded, community-centered engagement, ROCK It Wellness creates pathways for early awareness, symptom recognition, movement, and practical tools for managing chronic illness. Together, these two components close gaps in knowledge, trust, and access.
ROCK Wellness Weekend (RWW) brings our two initiatives together for a full community experience. The ROCK Summit takes place on Friday and focuses on education, connection, and lived-experience leadership. On Saturday, the ROCK the Block Community Health and Resource Expo delivers screenings, movement, and practical support for families across Houston.

Thank you for promoting the health fair on today at Sunnyside Health Center. I work at MD Anderson, and so far out of all the health events this was the best one I've experienced. All I can say is ..... YOU DID THAT, and I would be honored to attend any future events you host.
When I say they did an amazing job. This was awesome. Lots of great resources."
